Conrad Aiken 1889-1973
Born, and died, in Savannah Georgia, he spent much of his life in England. His large body of work earned many awards, including the Pulitzer Prize in 1930, National Book Award in 1954, Bollinger Prize in 1956, Gold Medal in Poetry from the American Academy of Arts and Letters in 1958, and National Medal for Literature in 1969.
